Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick | Lighthouse Stay

While in the maritimes, why not stay in a lighthouse! That's exactly what we were thinking when we stumbled upon this little lighthouse glamping cottage. While not an actual functioning lighthouse, it had all the charm of one, and enough room to relax and enjoy the stunning views. Let me take you up the hill and show you around.

Location Located in the hills of Hopewell Rocks alongside the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick, Canada, the little lighthouse cottage sits behind the barns and horses of Broadleaf Ranch and up a winding dirt road. We spun our tires pulling our trailer all the way to the top but we made it! There were five or six other tiny units for rent, but all unique and different from each other. Once we pulled in the driveway of our unit we could see views of the Bay Of Fundy in the distance from every direction. The place is truly situated on the most amazing piece of land and from sunrise to sunset, the view was spectacular. If you want to explore the area, the Hopewell Rocks are just down the street, as well as Cape Enrage, and Bay of Fundy National Park roughly a 30 minute car ride away.

Cottage The little lighthouse cottage was just the cutest from the outside, and it didn't stop there. A two-storey white lighthouse shape, it had bright red trim and lots of windows, making this tiny home love at first sight. Wooden doors, window trim, and staircase inside were beautiful accents to fresh white walls, that lead you to the beautiful view outside all the glass windows. Two love seats on the main floor turned into beds come night. In the center of main floor a wooden table pulled down from the wall, and the coffee table turned to two bench seats (enough room for four). A functional three-piece bath tucked in under the stairs (you heard right, hot shower included!). The stairway/ladder was easy to climb and lead to the loft, which had a comfy queen bed, and a bit of room to store your belongings. The ceiling up there was high, with a hanging fan. The hexagon windows all opened up to let in a cool breeze and were fully screened. A stocked kitchen on the main floor had dishes and cookware, a fridge, sink, and stove top. My favoutie part of the kitchen was a large window that opened up and made you feel like you were outdoors, and gave a great cross breeze during the day. The natural light was bright, and at night there was a firepit with a nearby shed full of free wood (yes free!). If you're not in the mood for a fire, you can sit on the large wrap around deck!

Ranch Along with the lighthouse stay you have the opportunity to experience all Broadleaf Ranch has to offer. We did a rock wall climbing class and took a 30 minute horse ride down a beautiful trail. The ranch also has their own restaurant, and ready for this... they will cater to the lighthouse as long as you put your order in before hand. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed as we were there just a week before their busy season began, but that also meant our rock climbing class and horseback ride felt private, one-on-one with the instructor due to us being the only ones glamping. There is also a cute park for kids to play at, horses to say hello too, and lots of room to roam!

Final Thoughts We have lots of memories made at this magical little lighthouse in the maritimes. The experiences we were able to add on to our stay filled up our schedule and made it that much more special. The staff were so friendly, and we would definitely return for another stay!
